Three Non-Negotiable Quality Checks Before Your Jewellery Reaches You

At Elysian Jewels, quality is never assumed.

Every engagement ring and fine jewellery piece must pass our three-stage quality assurance process before it is approved for delivery: diamond or centre-stone verification, goldsmith bench inspection, and final founder inspection.

If a piece does not meet our standard at any stage, it goes back for correction and is inspected again before it can leave our hands.

01 · VERIFICATION

01 · VERIFICATION

The Stone Is Verified Before We Judge the Finished Piece

For certified centre diamonds, our first quality check begins by confirming that the diamond used for the piece corresponds with its grading documentation and the client’s selected specifications.

For an IGI- or GIA-graded diamond, relevant report details are checked against the stone and the order, including:

  • Report number
  • Diamond origin or type, where applicable
  • Shape, carat weight, colour and clarity
  • Measurements

Where a laser-inscribed report number is present and accessible, it may also be examined under magnification as an additional identification check. For gemstones or stones without an individual grading report, the stone is checked against the specifications approved for the order.

The documentation is checked. The stone is checked. The details must correspond.

Why this matters

A grading report documents the characteristics observed by the issuing laboratory. Our verification step helps make sure the centre stone used in the jewellery corresponds with the stone and specifications selected for the order.

02 · CRAFTSMANSHIP

02 · CRAFTSMANSHIP

The Craftsmanship Is Inspected at the Bench

Once the piece has been set and finished, it undergoes a detailed craftsmanship inspection before moving to final approval. The goldsmith examines the elements that affect both the appearance and integrity of the finished jewellery.

  • Stone security
  • Prong or setting consistency
  • Diamond and gemstone alignment
  • Symmetry and ring profile proportions
  • Surface finish, polish and sizing
  • Overall workmanship

For custom jewellery, the finished piece is also reviewed against the approved design and CAD so the important design details carry through. Particular attention is given to the centre stone and its setting: prongs, bezels and surrounding stones should be secure, balanced and consistent with the intended design.

Manufacturing being complete does not mean the piece is approved. It must first pass the bench inspection.

03 · FINAL APPROVAL

03 · FINAL APPROVAL

One Final Inspection Before It Reaches You

Before a finished piece is approved for client delivery, it receives a final inspection by Ravi, Founder of Elysian Jewels.

Using a jeweller’s loupe where appropriate, the piece is examined again both as a piece of craftsmanship and as the jewellery the client originally approved.

  • Centre-stone security
  • Prong and setting consistency
  • Stone alignment and symmetry
  • Finish quality and polish
  • Design accuracy and overall craftsmanship

For custom engagement rings and bespoke jewellery, the completed piece is also compared with the approved design so the important visual details of the client’s selection are represented in the finished piece.

The final question is simple:
Would we be comfortable putting the Elysian Jewels name behind this piece?

If the answer is anything other than yes, it does not leave our hands.

THE ELYSIAN STANDARD

What “Non-Negotiable” Means

Our three quality checks are not optional finishing touches. Every applicable piece must move through this sequence:

Stone Verification → Goldsmith Bench Inspection → Final Founder Inspection

If an issue is identified during an inspection, the piece is returned for correction and reviewed again before it can be approved for pickup or shipment.

IF IT DOESN’T PASS,
IT GOES BACK TO THE BENCH.

THE DETAILS

Built Around the Details You Cannot Always See

Some of the most important elements of a well-made engagement ring are easy to overlook at first glance.

  • The security of the centre stone
  • The consistency of its prongs
  • The alignment of smaller diamonds
  • The symmetry of the setting
  • The finish around the gallery and setting
  • The completed ring’s relationship to the approved design

These details are why our quality assurance process involves multiple inspections rather than relying on one final visual check. We want clients to see beautiful jewellery. We also want to know what is behind that beauty.
